Wet spots, be they shaded or sunny, are good locations for button bushes (cephalanthus occidentals)

Contrary to many plants, wet sun plants have a natural protection against root rot, so they can thrive in wet locations, sometimes even in water gardens and streams. But bear in mind that some of these plants will not do well in excessively wet locations, so you should always check the characteristics proper to each one before making your choice.

Also note that each list includes wet sun plants from different climate zones, so you should also make sure each plant’s zone is the right one for your location.

Go through the pages listed below and make up a short list of plants. Then ask knowledgeable nursery employees about the plants on your short list. Always bear in mind that they may tell you to forget about specific plants merely because they don’t have them. Horticulturists from your local botanical garden are also a good source of information.
